Brahmavihara Monastery & Retreat Centre (“Brahmavihara”) is a forest monastery located within an area of approximately 4.8 acre in the Mukim of Tanjung Minyak, Melaka.
The objective of Brahmavihara is to:
1. Provide a training platform for those who are inclined towards monastic life in accordance with Theravada Buddhism and exploring the path of enlightenment;
2. Provide a meditation practice platform for Sangha and public; and
3. Propagate the four Buddhist cardinal virtues, which are loving-kindness, compassion, appreciative joys and equanimity.
The monastery will be set amidst spacious grounds with a mixture of greenery and tropical landscape views to create a serene and calming environment.
It will be divided into three Centre, (1) Community Activity Centre, (2) International Meditation Centre and (3) Sangha Education Centre. Each centre has its own cardinal function.
The facilities in the monastery will incorporate: dhamma learning room, activity room, cafeteria, indoor and outdoor meditation hall, library, living quarters for monastics and public.
